Study of Progressive Collapse of Precast Steel Reinforced Concrete Building

چکیده

Progressive collapse starts when any load-carrying elements of the building during extreme loading, such as earthquakes, blasts, or fire. The Precast Steel Reinforced Concrete (PSRC) buildings comprise precast RCC columns and steel girders. These structural are connected to form a moment-resisting frame susceptible progressive collapse. However, this system has advantage inherent stiffness damping lateral loads is also known for its construction efficiency, lightweight low cost. Earlier investigations have shown PSRC systems useful in designing constructing while maintaining ample strength high ductility seismic incidents. Despite much previous research, system's use limited regions. This paper aims study using non-linear dynamic analysis U.S. General Service Administration (GSA) guidelines loading. Two structures studied validate performance structures. Four-story designed according Indian Codes practice. Design under provisions reinforced concrete code, beams code. Comparative studies two presented.

Numerical Study of Progressive Collapse in Intermediate Moment Resisting Reinforced Concrete Frame Due to Column Removal

Progressive collapse is a chain reaction of failures propagating throughout a portion of the structure disproportionate to the original local failure occurring when a sudden loss of a critical load‐bearing element initiates a structural element failure, eventually resulting in partial or full collapse of the structure. Both General Services Administration (GSA) and United States Department of D...

An Improved Tie Force Method for Progressive Collapse Resistance of Precast Concrete Cross Wall Structures

Progressive collapse of buildings typically occurs when abnormal loading conditions cause local damages, which leads to a chain reaction of failure and ultimately catastrophic collapse. The tie force (TF) method is one of the main design approaches for progressive collapse. As the TF method is a simplified method, further investigations on the reliability of the method is necessary. This study ...

Numerical Evaluation of Progressive Collapse Potential in Reinforced Concrete Buildings with Various Floor Plans Due to Single Column Removal

Progressive collapse is defined as the spread of an initial damage from one member to another, leading to extensive partial or total collapse of the structure. In this research, the potential of progressive collapse due to a sudden removal of vertical load-bearing elements in reinforced concrete buildings structures with different floor plans such as geometrical regular and irregular floor plan...
